Pour le plaisir d’unir leurs voix...

le vent des plaines et le courant du fleuve

se murmurent des airs d’un autre temps.

After years of rearranging songs dating back to before the 1960s, Prairie Comeau's artistic direction has come into sharper focus: it's the repertoire of La Bonne Chanson that resonates with them most deeply. Some of these pieces are so deeply rooted in our collective unconscious that the possibilities for reinterpreting them (or even transforming them), while preserving their essence and familiarity, are immense.

The album L'Emprunt(e) also marks a musical turning point for Prairie Comeau, as they deliberately draw more from the colors of traditional music—the music of their roots—as well as from folk Americana influences. With the collaboration of musician and producer Nicolas Boulerice (Le Vent du Nord), Prairie Comeau carves out their own singular path in this vast musical landscape…
